For primary care of simple illnesses of CNU students and staffs, health clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Hall 2(E 5). Main responsibilities are as follows :
Nurse will be on-duty from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday. Doctor will be available only during the designated hours and dates and they will provide simple treatment and may act as liaison between patients and specialists in general hospitals if further care is needed.
Pharmacy is located outside of the health clinic. In Korea, pharmacists are usually first medical contact point for diagnosis and treatment. Over-the-counter medicines can be purchased without doctor’s prescriptions at the pharmacy. For common colds and minor discomforts, seeing the pharmacist is usually sufficient, For persistent and severe problems, seeing a doctor is recommended.
Chungnam National University Hospital is the biggest hospital in Daejeon and central area. It has 32 medical departments and manages 14 specialized medical centers. As CNU hospital is the tertiary medical organization, patients are required to present health insurance certificate and request for examination issued by the primary or secondary hospitals for the first-time reservation. Appointments can be made by phone (042-280-7123), visitation (282 Munhwa-ro, Chung-gu, Daejeon), or through internet (http://www.cnuh.co.kr/home/membership/login.jsp?ReturnURL=/home/treatment/e_reserve.jsp). CNU undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to receive 30% and 20% discount, respectively when treated or hospitalized at CNU hospital..
